Green Lake

Green Lake Often called the Caribbean of the South Cariboo, beautiful Green Lake is located approx 13 km east of 70 Mile House. Its crystal clear, emerald coloured waters offer recreational opportunities for the entire family, including boating, tubing, waterskiing, windsurfing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming and fishing. The shoreline boasts many stretches of sandy beach which enhances its appeal to the many permanent and seasonal residents and to visitors who frequent the lake’s public parks and campgrounds. Among the provincial campgrounds are Sunset View on the south side, and Emerald Bay and Arrowhead on the north side.

The expansive lake is 14 km in length and averages 1.5 km in width, with average depths of 40 ft. For the angler, patience is a must, but when you hook one of its prized rainbow trout, it’s bound to be a big one. Adding to its beauty, Green Lake is surrounded predominantly by aspen forests which provide welcome shade in summer and a brilliant show of gold and bronze in the fall.

A four-season recreational paradise, the lake is surrounded by a labyrinth of trails, ideal for hiking, biking, quadding and snowmobiling, while the rolling terrain lends itself nicely to cross-country skiing.
